Who We Are
CoreConnect Community Broadband is a 10-county 501(c)(3) nonprofit coalition headquartered in Franklin, PA.
We are a community-based coalition comprised of individuals with backgrounds in county planning, economic development, community development, broadband and information technologies. Born from the Northwest Commission’s Broadband Action Team, we bring together local leaders, educators, healthcare providers, and businesses to build a future worth staying for.
Incorporated as CoConet, Inc. (d.b.a. CoreConnect Community Broadband), our mission is to establish and operate a regional open access broadband network that will also create economic vitality, healthcare access, population growth, education equity and other benefits to the citizens, businesses and visitors of Pennsylvania.
GOALS STATEMENT
The Corporation will provide high-speed broadband service and related technologies to any location, city, town, county, school district, community anchor institution and community-based facilities who may be unserved or underserved and provide access to enable the use of shared infrastructure to better deliver broadband services reducing the burden on the government.
However, no such action shall be taken by or on behalf of the Corporation if such action is a prohibited transaction or would result in the denial or revocation of the tax exemption under Section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended and its Regulations as they now exist or as they may be amended as an organization described in Section 501(c)(3).
